PHILADELPHIA, PA — Macy's holds its next holiday hiring day on Thursday, October 22, and Philadelphia is one of 10 markets where the company says it expects greater seasonal store hiring this year. Walk in at Macy's at Roosevelt Mall in the Northeast, or head out to King of Prussia or Willow Grove, and apply for part-time holiday work before the Black Friday rush.

Philadelphia made Macy's priority list, there's no registration, and if Oct. 22 doesn't fit your schedule, one more national hiring day follows on Thursday, Nov. 19.

Why Philadelphia Is on Macy's Priority List

In its 2026 holiday hiring announcement, Macy's, Inc. named 10 markets where it expects greater store hiring for the Macy's brand, and Philadelphia is one of them. Stores are filling part-time seasonal jobs, with in-person hiring days on three Thursdays this fall: September 24, October 22 and November 19.

No Philadelphia headcount has been published, so treat Oct. 22 as a strong shot at a holiday job rather than a guaranteed offer.

There's no single published pay rate either. Macy's says every posting lists its own pay range, so read it before you apply. Listed perks include a colleague discount, a 401(k), eligibility-based medical, dental and vision coverage, and access to earned wages before payday.

🗺️ Picking Your Store, From Cottman Avenue to KOP

Macy's Northeast, Roosevelt Mall. Since Macy's closed its Center City store in the Wanamaker Building in 2025, Roosevelt Mall on Cottman Avenue is the company's only store inside city limits. It's the natural pick for Mayfair, Rhawnhurst, Oxford Circle and anyone living along the Boulevard.

Macy's King of Prussia. The biggest retail address in the region, at the mall off Route 202 and the Schuylkill. A good fit for Manayunk, Roxborough and the Main Line, and for anyone who already commutes west on I-76.

Macy's Willow Grove. At Willow Grove Park on Moreland Road, close to the Turnpike and Route 611. The easiest of the three for Northwest Philly, Abington, Horsham and Hatboro.

Pick the store you can actually reach for a 6 p.m. shift in December, not the one that looks closest on a map.

📋 How to Show Up Ready on Oct. 22

Call your store first. Macy's says hiring-day times vary by location, and the three stores may not match.
Apply online before you go. It saves time at the counter and gets your name in the system.
Bring photo ID for hiring paperwork.
Know your real availability. Evenings, weekends and the days around Thanksgiving are what holiday retail runs on.
